What To Expect
We believe that staying fit is a lifelong process. We try to achieve the same through the most natural ways possible, ensuring long term benefits.
Your initial visits with our team is all about getting to know you, your health concerns and your goals. Our friendly staff is warm and welcoming.
Whether you are familiar with chiropractic care or this is your first time, you can expect your visit to our office to be new and different from any healthcare experience you’ve had before. Chiropractic care is different from medical care. At our practice we address the whole body from the skeleton to your nervous system to your muscles and diet.
At your first appointment, we will get your extensive and comprehensive health history and perform a complete physical exam.
Your exam will include some or all of the following:
– Postural evaluation
– Muscle testing
– Orthopedic and neurologic tests
– X-rays if necessary with our state of the art digital X-ray machine
During your first visit, your chiropractor will learn about your issues, explain how a chiropractic adjustment can be used to correct them, and the many ongoing benefits chiropractic has to offer. The doctor will answer any questions or concerns you may have prior to initiating treatment.
Once these tests are completed, we may give you a chiropractic adjustment that same day. We will be sure to explain what that treatment will be and answer any questions you might have before we begin.
Your first visit will take roughly 45 minutes.
Your Consultation, Exam and Adjustment
After your consultation and exam, the doctor will determine if you may benefit from chiropractic care. If so, you will be adjusted on a comfortable adjustment table made specifically for this purpose. You will remain fully clothed for the duration of your visit, so we recommend you wear non restrictive clothing to make it easier to rest comfortably while lying down on the table. A portion of your adjustment may be performed while you are face down, while other adjustments may be delivered while you are either on your side, sitting upright or lying on your back.
Take Home Instructions
Prior to leaving, patients will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches.
Schedule Your Next Appointment
You will be given a convenient appointment time for your follow up visit. For best results patients are usually seen within 1 to 2 days and are provided with a complete review of findings. Treatment options for your condition will also be discussed during this time.
